FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will I need my workout clothes for the initial consultation?

You will need to wear your gym clothes for the fit test & the physiotherapy screening. You do not need to wear them for your consultation with the dietitian.

If I have used a gym regularly before do I still need the initial consultation?

Yes. All of our clients must undergo the initial consultation on joining Matt Roberts regardless of their previous workout experience. It is in the initial consultation that your trainer gets a clear insight into your levels of fitness and devises a training programme for you based on this.

Is there a membership fee?

No there are no membership fees at Matt Roberts. Instead you buy a group of sessions, either 10, 15, 25, 50 or 100. Find out more information on our pricing plans.

Will I always train with the same trainer?

That is your choice. Some clients like to have the variety of working with different Trainers who have different specialist areas that might match their range of needs. We generally recommend that you work with one Trainer in all of your workouts, but all of your client file contents are discussed in full between any Trainers you may be working with. This allows you to keep on training even if your Trainer takes a Holiday!

If I need to cancel a session will I be charged?

If you need to cancel a session that you have booked, we will require a minimum of 24 hours notice by phone to cancel the session without charge. If you cancel your booking after this time or fail to show up for an appointed session you will be marked as a late cancellation or no show and we will charge you the full amount for a session.

Are all your sites similar?

All of our Matt Roberts training centres are individual and unique in Interior Design style, however each one is equipped with the same range of state of the art equipment. Every site has a different layout but always fulfils the requirements that Matt has for workouts within his centres.

If I join at one site can I train at another of your centres or must I stay in the site I originally joined?

Once you have joined you can train at any of our Matt Roberts centres. Our system and records of your account are networked so you can talk to any of our Reception Desks at any time and they will be able to book you into any location.

Are you open at weekends?

Yes, We are open in our venues in Hampstead and Chelsea and you are welcome to train in these locations if you do not usually do so. We also have Bootcamp Training sessions that operate from our Hampstead venue at weekends, which can be purchased in short courses.

If I want to do Pilates or have a massage do I have to book personal training sessions?

No, you are welcome to make use of the Pilates & massage facilities without joining for personal training sessions. Please see our price plan for the individual prices for Pilates, massages & sessions with our dietitian.

Do I need to bring my own towels & toiletries?

No. All of our bathrooms at Matt Roberts have a supply of clean towels, deodorants, hair dryers & ghd straighteners which are available to you as a client with no additional cost. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and moisturiser from Balance Me at all of our centres. Balance Me are a natural range of luxury aromatherapy products. They are available for purchase at Matt Roberts Mayfair.

How often should I use a Trainer?

You need to exercise at least three times per week. You may choose to work with a Trainer 2, 3, 4 or more times per week, depending on your goals. Your Trainer will advise you how often you should be training, whether it is with a Trainer or not. Our aim is to make sure you reach your goals.

What is the difference between a Senior Trainer and a Trainer?

Generally, a Senior Trainer has been with the company for a longer period of time and has a great depth of experience within Matt Roberts Centres. There is no difference in the quality of training that is given between Senior Trainers and Trainers, they all work to the same high standards set by the company, but the level of experience that a Senior Trainer possesses may particularly suit clients who have very specific personal requirements, conditions or goals.

What happens to my sessions when I go away on holiday or business?

If you have a regular booked appointment, that timeslot is reserved for you in perpetuity. If you are travelling for more than 4 weeks you can inform us and we will ensure that your regular time is held until your return. We would request that anyone travelling for more than 50% of their time is flexible with their regular fixed times. Should we not hear from you for a period of 4 weeks we will reserve the right to give another client your allocated time.
