What is Biomechanical Analysis?
It is a scientific study of the mechanics of your body, in particular the forces exerted by muscles and gravity on your skeletal structure. Using a series of tests, we assess your technique and posture during rest and movement to build a profile of muscular tightness and weakness in your body. This allows us to develop a treatment and training regime completely tailored to your needs.
How can Biomechanical Analysis help me?
By building a complete picture of the forces at work in your body we can ensure that your treatment and training are designed to make you stronger, to improve your performance, to correct any mobility issues you may have and to reduce your risk of injury. We can help you bring your body back to a state of equilibrium.
Is Biomechanical Analysis for me?
Biomechanical Analysis can benefit everyone from those with postural or mobility problems to athletes looking to improve their performance. By assessing and treating the specific causes of weakness and imbalance we can ensure that your body moves and in the best and most efficient way possible.

What does Biomechanical Analysis involve?
Our comprehensive analysis takes place in 3 stages:
Stage 1: Static or Standing Analysis
This stage of the assessment looks at the basic structure and alignment of the body in a standing position. This allows us to draw up a ‘body forces analysis’ that gives us an understanding of the over and underuse of certain muscles and the alignment of pressure through the joints.
Stage 2: Soft Tissue Analysis
The second stage of the assessment is a physical analysis of the soft tissue of the body. This part of the process allows us to analyse pressure placed on the body by overuse or increased tension in the ligaments, tendons or connective tissue. The conclusions drawn from this stage determine the best course of action to prevent current or potential injury caused by long-term pressure at the joints.
State 3: Integrated Foot Scan Technology
Our Foot Scan system allows us to get in-depth information about how you put pressure through your feet and the effect that has on your body in motion. Correction exercises or supporting your foot with the right orthotic and training shoe is vital for avoiding injury and improving your performance.

Stage 4: Body in Motion Analysis
Taking into account the findings from stage 1 & 2, we then assess the body in motion. The analysis is video based and can be tailored to any sport. We will show you how the effects of stage 1 & 2 can be trained and adapted to prevent injury and/or improve sporting performance.
Treatment
Having gained a complete picture of your body’s movement, we then address issues concerning the mobility and flexibility of your muscles using massage and advance stretching techniques. The problems highlighted in your video analysis may be related to tightness or poor tissue quality revealed in dense knots of tissue. This can be caused by poor posture, injury, the impact of sport or repetitive overuse of certain muscles. Soft tissue treatment releases tightness to allow movement through an unrestricted range of motion which will improve your training and ultimately your ability to perform better.
Training
Once issues in your technique and mobility have been resolved we look at how we can improve your strength in the right areas. We start with a fitness assessment to give a baseline measure and from this we can tailor your fitness training so that you can achieve your specific goals whilst building strength where you need it. Throughout this process we will offer support and guidance to ensure that your training is successful.
