GARETH LOVELL | MANAGER

 

Gareth’s goal is that each client leaves their Personal Training session feeling strong, positive and energized. He has a wealth of Personal Training experience, and his clients have come to expect a fully optimised, dynamic programme tailored specifically to their requirements.

Gareth’s ability to achieve results safely within realistic timescales has led him to gain recognition from London’s top Model agency “Premier Model Management”. He has featured in magazines ranging from: ID, Clash, Dazed & Confused and Harrods magazine, whilst also contributing his unique methods, and original training concepts to many personal fitness publications.

The exposure that this forum gave Gareth, coupled with his realistic, no-nonsense and highly effective style has enabled him to train some of London’s busy high profile professionals tailoring bespoke programmes that were not only achievable, but delivered outstanding aesthetic results.

Gareth continues to broaden his knowledge within the health and fitness industry to ensure all of his clients benefit from an excellent workout that is challenging, motivating and fun.

ROB AITKEN | SENIOR TRAINER

 

Rob has enjoyed participating in sport and exercise from early childhood. He pursued this interest from an academic perspective and attained a degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Bath.

During his studies Rob was offered the opportunity to work with the Strength Conditioning Team at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club on a 14-month work placement, where he gained invaluable experience in the application of exercise science to the real situations.

Immediately after finishing his degree Rob began working as a Personal Trainer in Kensington and carried on his work at as a strength coach in London, working with the academy squad at Saracens Rugby club. In addition to this, he continued to broaden his knowledge base by spending time working with the Amateur Rowing Association as a Sports Development Coach.

However it was working with his personal training clients that Rob found most rewarding. Since joining Matt Roberts he has continued to develop his skills as a trainer and now with over 5 years experience in the exercise industry he has the right tools to ensure that his clients achieve their goals.

To keep himself in good health Rob enjoys amateur football and plays regularly for a team through the winter. One of his biggest achievements to date however took place in the summer of 2007 when he and a friend completed a ‘Deca-Ironman’ to raise £50,000 for Leukaemia Research. The ordeal took 3 weeks to complete and involved running 10 marathons in 10 days!

Now, suitably rested, Rob has plans to complete a series of shorter Triathlons for his own pleasure in the summer of 2009.

SOPHIE ASHCROFT | SENIOR TRAINER

 

Sophie was first inspired to get into personal training after teaching a variety of fitness classes including spinning and Boxercise for many years. She wanted to help people on more of a one to one basis, so completed the YMCA personal trainer award in 2004. She worked in a private health club in Hertfordshire before joining Matt Roberts in 2006.

Sophie has enjoyed helping her clients reach their goals from anything to weight loss to pre and post pregnancy to general conditioning,

Sophie’s thoughtful approach to an individuals needs creates instant rapport, and her personal experience and passion for health and fitness means she gets real job satisfaction from helping people achieve their goals.

Sophie’s interests lie in Boxing, running and spinning and she still manages to teach a few very popular spin classes.

KAREN WEIR | PERSONAL TRAINER

 

After 12 years of working in the Financial Services industry in the City and a burgeoning interest (and participation in) endurance sports Karen retrained to become a Personal Trainer with Matt Roberts.

In 2003, on a bit of a whim she signed up for the London Marathon, joined a running club to help her train and has not looked back since. Six years on, running and fitness have become a part of her life and Karen is keen to extol the benefits to everyone. This enthusiastic nature has seen her take on a volunteering role as Event Director for a weekly 5km run in Richmond Park as well as completing her UK Athletics Level 2 Coaching qualification so she can coach athletes at her running club. It was also this desire to help people achieve their own fitness goals that led Karen to personal training.

Since running her first marathon, Karen has gone on to run 3 others, each time achieving a PB. Over the past couple of years she has also branched out into multi-sport taking part in several triathlons as well as the Enduro Challenge – a team based ultra-triathlon from London to Paris. Most recently Karen has completed a half Ironman distance triathlon in Barcelona and current training goals are for a full Ironman in 2010. Her personal experiences in endurance events, sports massage qualification and Level 3 Personal Training certificate from the Matt Roberts Academy mean Karen is well placed to train and coach clients seeking to undertake endurance events or just improve their general health and fitness.

SAM MARKHAM | PERSONAL TRAINER

 

A keen interest in health and fitness meant that becoming a personal trainer for Sam was an obvious choice. Because of this he naturally fitted into the Matt Roberts Personal Training Academy and graduated as one of Matt’s personal trainers at the beginning of 2009.

Sam had always achieved highly in sports; competing in athletics and swimming for his county and playing football for Charlton’s under 21’s team. His sporting background therefore makes Sam a very rounded trainer, being confident in training people for sports performance to cosmetic appearance.

BROOKE COLEMAN | PERSONAL TRAINER

 

Born in Australia, Brooke developed a passion for health and fitness at a young age, this lead her to compete in a wide range of sports from Taekwondo and athletics at State level, as well as body sculpting and teaching kickboxing. This diverse mix or martial arts and sport have allowed Brooke to develop a style that is both fun and challenging.

Brooke qualified as a Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor with the Australian Institute of Fitness in 2003. Over the last 6 years Brooke has worked in a number of personal training studios both in London and Australia, and with her unique combination of boxing and strength & conditioning knowledge, she has successfully helped a diverse mix of private clients, providing support, encouragement and long-lasting goal-oriented results.

Brooke has continued to develop her skills with further training and qualifications in kickboxing, Fitness First boot camp classes, Les Mills body pump, circuit training, free style aerobics, and spinning classes.

TONY ADEYEMI | PERSONAL TRAINER

 

Tony is competent at delivering personal training to suit all ages, abilities and fitness levels. Over the years he has achieved unparalleled results with many different types of people.

He has an active interest in all sports and has specific knowledge of martial arts conditioning. Tony has a sound knowledge and understanding of nutrition, lifestyle improvements in addition to the latest training techniques.

TATUM NELSON | PERSONAL TRAINER

 

Having a wealth of experience as a world class athlete, Tatum now focuses her expertise on training others and helping them to achieve their personal fitness goals. She passes onto her clients the knowledge she has acquired training and competing all over the world, with the world’s best. Tatum’s started her career by competing over 100m, 200m and 400m from the age of 14, representing Great Britain and England on many occasions. Her training partners have included Colin Jackson, Darren Campbell and Christian Malcolm, and she has worked with some of the best coaches in the world including Malcolm Arnold.

She has also trained and worked with sports professionals from other disciplines including Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and former All Black rugby international Jonah Lomu. Tatum’s career has given her the opportunity to train in Europe, the Middle East, America and Australia gaining experience in how other nations approach fitness and incorporates this into her fitness routines.

In the last 2 years she has broadened her knowledge by working with triathletes, collaborating on a training programme with a GB Age Group triathlete, which has seen them finish in the top 5 of the London Triathlon, and reach their goal of competing in the World Championships.

Tatum is also a trained dancer, completing ballet training to Elementary Level. She uses her experience from dance to help clients who are particularly focussed on body tone and conditioning. Tatum’s extensive and diverse knowledge can help clients with varying goals including overall health and fitness; weight loss & tone to achieve body confidence; fitness for a specific event; and elite sport specific conditioning to achieve the extra edge in a chosen sport.
